Come as you are,

and grow.

welcome to maple seed counseling.

I’m glad you are here.

You are welcome here - whether you are trying to get pregnant, are already pregnant, are adjusting to life with a new baby, or have experienced loss.

Your feelings are welcome here - your joys, your sorrows, your fears, your anger, your excitement, and everything in between. Your hurts and disappointments and tears are welcome, and so are your joys and dreams and laughter.

The journey of motherhood can be beautiful and profound, but it also is so tender and can feel vulnerable and hard. And sometimes mothers (and parents) just need a little extra support.

Because I know how hard it can be and what a difference some help can make, I specialize in supporting women and couples during the perinatal period. So if you are looking for support on your journey of trying to conceive, navigating pregnancy, or adjusting to parenthood, this just might be the space for you.

Take a look around to learn more about me, the perinatal period, and whether we might be a good fit for one another.

Please reach out, and together we can gently and tenderly care for your hurts and find ways to courageously journey towards hope, healing, love, and wholeness.

You are not alone.

about chelsea

I became a therapist because I delight in growth and believe it often happens in relationship. I believe authenticity matters, and that having the courage to be honest – even about difficulty – opens up hope for change. I believe that everyone, when they have the support and tools they need, can begin taking steps towards further growth, healing, wholeness, and even joy.

I believe that we are made for relationship with others, and that we often especially long for extra connection and support during big life transitions and stressors - such as when adding or losing a family member, living in a pandemic, facing oppression, being isolated, not having the resources we need, moving, adjusting to new roles, and more. Yet sometimes it is when we feel the most stressed that we also feel the most alone and the most uncertain of how to move forward.

As a therapist, I am always on the lookout for growth, and have a warm, collaborative style. I use a predominately systemic, attachment-informed, experiential, strengths-based, trauma-informed clinical approach, and also integrate in mindfulness and cognitive behavioral skills. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and trauma. I specialize in working with moms and couples navigating the perinatal period and early parenthood.

I’m a lover of sharing time with my husband and three little ones, connecting with family and friends, walking my dog, curling up on my reading chair with books and poetry, hearing new perspectives, enjoying the outdoors (if it’s not TOO cold), trying to learn about gardening, and - always - drinking coffee.
